Political tension rises in Abia as Nweke resigns

The political tension in Abia State has risen, following a recent meeting of politicians across the state hosted by former governor,  Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu.

The meeting that held at the Igbere home of Dr. Kalu had in attendance, political bigwigs from wards in all the 17 local government areas of the state .

The former governor had told the politicians not to fold their hands and watch things go wrong in Abia State.

He urged well-meaning Nigerians to support President Goodluck Jonathan in his transformation programme. One of those who attended the meeting and Chairman, Abia State Housing and Property Development Corporation, Chief Ahamdi Nweke, had resigned his appointment.

Nweke,  a lawyer who was appointed in 2011, was governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2007 elections.

The British-trained legal luminary and development economist resigned without granting a press interview and has declined an interview with the media.
